TLU Football's Mason Hardy Named to ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Football Team
RICHARDSON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran safety Mason Hardy (Flynn/Normangee) has been named to the American Southwest Conference's Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Football Team for the 2022-23 academic year, per a conference release on Thursday.
Hardy, a sophomore during the 2022-23 academic year, was TLU's representative among the honorees from the nine football-playing schools in the ASC.
Hardy holds a 3.73 grade point average as a Business Management major and Communications minor.
The Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Teams recognize student-athletes who achieve a high level of academic achievement (a 3.20 grade-point average or better) while competing as a starter or important reserve on their team. From that list – limited to one nominee per school in each ASC championship sport – the sports information directors from the 10 ASC member institutions and three affiliate members select a Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in each sport.
Hardy also received All-ASC Honorable Mention honors for his play on the field during the 2022 season, was named ASC Academic All-Conference, and earned Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.
