TLU Baseball Falls to Trinity, 10-1; Lead Centenary in Halted Elimination Game

CLEBURNE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran dropped their second round matchup to the No. 2-seed Trinity Tigers, 10-1, Saturday afternoon at The Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas.

The Bulldogs began their elimination game against Centenary College on Saturday before it was halted due to lightning with Texas Lutheran leading 4-0 with one out and the bases loaded in the second inning. The game will resume at 11 AM Sunday morning in Cleburne. The winner of that game will advance to the SCAC Championship game against Trinity scheduled for 2:30 PM. If Trinity loses and an "if necessary" game is forced, the game will be played on Monday at 4 PM. Tickets for the tournament are available for purchase by clicking here. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com. The game will be broadcast on KWED AM 1580 with Chris Austin on the call.

The Trinity Tigers got on the board first with two runs on two hits and a walk in the top of the third inning. The Bulldogs cut their lead in half in the bottom half of the inning via a solo home run from Hayden Kesselring (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), his second of the season.

Trinity would score a run in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings before a massive five-run eighth inning put the game out of reach for TLU.
