TLU Baseball Drops Saturday Double Header to East Texas Baptist

MARSHALL, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Baseball dropped its non-conference doubleheader to East Texas Baptist 4-2, 14-4 on Saturday at Woods Field in Marshall, Texas.

A three-run second inning placed the Bulldogs behind early as they struggled to get going offensively. Freshman Mason Goudeau (Liberty/Liberty) put the Bulldogs on the board with an RBI single up the middle to cut the ETBU lead to 3-1 in the fourth inning.

East Texas Baptist would tack on another run in the bottom of the inning to reestablish a three-run lead. Randy Huerta (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) would score on a passed ball in the fifth for TLU's final run of the game as ETBU would take game one, 4-2, in seven innings.

In Game 2, a nine-run first inning from the Tigers proved to be too much for the Bulldogs as they fell 14-4 in game two. Tyler Post (San Antonio/Johnson) would be the main source of offense for the Bulldogs in game two - hitting two home runs, a two-run and a solo, in the game. Chase Bourgeois (League City/Clear Falls) would drive in the other run for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs are back home at Katt-Isbel Field on Tuesday, March 14, as they take on Our Lady of the Lake at 6 PM in non-conference action. All streaming and live stat links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
