TLU Baseball Falls to UT-Dallas, 3-1

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran baseball fell in the first of their four game weekend Friday night at Katt-Isbel Field, falling to UT-Dallas, 3-1.

UT-Dallas struck first, scoring a run in the third before adding a pair of runs in the fourth inning.

TLU was able to scratch across a run in the seventh inning as Payton Dahl (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) drove in Aric Vasquez (San Antonio/Brandeis) to shrink the UT-Dallas lead to 3-1.

TLU would give themselves chances, leaving seven runners on base, but could not deliver the equalizer.

Joe Burch (Geronimo/Navarro) tossed a complete game for the Bulldogs - punching out 10 batters while allowing three runs on eight hits.

Up next, Texas Lutheran continues play in its weekend Round Robin Tournament as the Bulldogs host UT-Dallas and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Katt-Isbel Field on Saturday, Feb. 18. First pitch is scheduled for 11 AM and 7 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
