SEGUIN, Texas -- After a regular season that saw the Bulldogs show constant improvement in their second season of competition, Texas Lutheran Acrobatics & Tumbling is in pursuit of their next program milestone: a win at the NCATA Division-III Championships.

The 2024 season has not only seen Texas Lutheran pick up their first meet win in program history under head coach Cam Bryant, but saw the Bulldogs close the season with five straight meets over 200 points and setting a new program-high in four of their last five meets.

Texas Lutheran opens the tournament with a team they're familiar with, the East Texas Baptist Tigers, who they split with in the regular season. The winner of the meet will face No. 1 seed and No. 5 ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor in the second round on Friday, April 12, at 10 AM.

Texas Lutheran also qualified for six events in the NCATA Division-III event finals: 6 Element Acro, Inversion Pyramid, Toss Heat 1, Duo Tumbling, Trio Tumbling, and Open Tumbling. The duo of Gracen Bunch (Georgetown/Georgetown) and Phoenix Cosley (Round Rock/Hendrickson), who made history a season ago as the first Bulldogs to qualify for the national tournament, return to compete in the duo tumbling event for the second consecutive season - entering the championships with a season-high score of 8.220. Cosley will also compete in the open pass tumbling event with a season-high score of 8.96. Mackenzie Holland (Colleyville/Grapevine), Nadia Roberts (Manvel/Manvel), and Genna Crafts (Elgin/Elgin) will represent TLU in the trio tumbling event. The event finals will take place on Saturday, April 17, at 7 PM CST.
