Texas Lutheran Athletics to Take Part in "Change For the Better" Campaign

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran University is once again taking part in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) "Change for the Better" Campaign.

Approved by the SCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2015, the "Change for the Better" contest allows each member institution to collect as much change as possible from fans, parents and students in support of a chosen charity over the course of a predetermined period of time during the conference basketball season.

This year's recipient is "The Locker."

The Locker educates and empowers youth, through Service Learning, to meet the needs of others in their community so that every child has a sense of normalcy. Funds from this campaign will be used to purchase shoes and school supplies for students in need at Weinert Elementary. Weinert is a local Seguin elementary school. 

The Texas Lutheran University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be taking donations at both men and women's basketball games this week. TLU athletics is proud to support The Locker and their community service efforts.
