TLU's Jaci Chambers named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior setter Jaci Chambers (Baytown/Goose Creek Memorial) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday.
 
Chambers averaged 6.93 assists per set in a 3-1 week for the Bulldogs.
 
Chambers had 22 assists in the three-set win over Howard Payne, 29 assists in the four-set win over Huntingdon, and 34 assists in the four-set win over Rhodes.
 
A four-year starter, Chambers hit .400 for the week and collected 59 digs (3.93 per set) and had three blocks. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Hendrix Invitational.
 
For the season, Chambers averages 6.0 assists per set. She also averages 3.90 digs per set, and she is hitting .181 with 24 kills on 94 attempts. She has served 11 aces and recorded five blocks.
 
Chambers and the Bulldogs head to Denver this weekend for the SCAC Crossover Tournament. TLU will face St. Thomas (Texas) and host Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on Friday and play Trinity (Texas) and Austin College on Saturday.
 
The SCAC Crossover Tournament marks the start of conference play.

Junior outside hitter Allie Freeburg of Colorado College was voted to the All-Tournament team at the 2019 Pikes Peak Challenge after she hit .366 and averaged 3.64 kills per set. She posted her second double-double of the season with 15 kills and a career-high 19 digs, in a loss to Transylvania. Junior outside hitter Avery Tuggle of Trinity opened the weekend with 12 kills, nine digs, and a career-high seven blocks in the win over sixth-ranked Juniata, picking up 4.3 points/set in the win. She recorded her only double-double of the weekend with 11 kills, 11 digs, and four more blocks against Wash U. Sophomore middle blocker Christine Royalty of Austin College had a strong weekend for the 'Roos, averaging 2.35 kills-per-set with a .281 hitting percentage and adding 1.29 blocks-per-set over the course of five matches. Freshman outside hitter Emma White of Southwestern keyed an 8-0 Pirate run to start the fourth set, opening with three consecutive aces as SU defeated Concordia (Tex.), 3-1. She also totaled nine kills on a .308 hitting percentage with a block assist for 13.5 points.
