TLU's Carr with indoor record in weight throw; Bulldogs open outdoor season with 12 top-fives

SEGUIN, Texas -- Dejah Carr set the new indoor school record for the weight throw at a last-chance meet at Wartburg College, and the Bulldogs started the outdoor track & field season on Friday at the Trinity Invitational with 12 top-five performances.
 
Competing at the Wartburg Qualifier in Waverly, Iowa, on Saturday, Carr posted a weight-throw mark of 15.95 meters (52 feet, 4 inches). She finished seventh out of 25 competitors.
 
Ashley Rynard and Ezrael Powell also competed in Iowa for a final shot at qualifying for indoor nationals. Rynard placed eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:18.92. 
 
Powell raced in the 60 and in the 200. He was ninth in the 60 with a time of 7.06. He was 11th in the 200 with a time of 22.64.
 
In San Antonio on Friday, Paris Foster took second overall in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.59 seconds.
 
Dalton Masters was second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.87 meters (6 feet, 1-1/2 inches).
 
Ryan Geiger recorded a second-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 51.48 meters (168-10).
 
Hannah Kipp posted a personal-record in the hammer with a mark of 44.35 (145-6).
