TLU Women's Golf standout Summer Swift advances to Academic All-America national ballot

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior women's golfer Summer Swift advanced to the national ballot of the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program after being named to the First Team All-District® 8 At-Large Team.

The 2020 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Swift, the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference individual champion, was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-West Region Team for 2019-20.

A four-year letter-winner, Swift also was named as the TLU Female Sportsmanship Award Winner for 2019-20. She was a three-time All-SCAC honoree.

In her four-year career with TLU, Swift won three collegiate tournaments and tied for another (losing on a scorecard playoff). She was named an SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week on six different occasions.

Swift has been named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll three times.

Swift graduated from TLU in May 2020. She will head to physical therapy school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She will be in a three-year program in pursuit of her doctorate in physical therapy.
