TLU Women's Golf finishes fifth at UC Santa Cruz Spring Invite

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. -- Texas Lutheran Women's Golf finished the University of California at Santa Cruz Spring Invite in fifth place after a final round 344 at Pacific Grove Golf Links.

Summer Swift (Fentress/San Marcos) ended the tournament in 10th after an 81 on Sunday. She shot a 13-over-par 157 with rounds of 76 and 81.

Kristen Cox (Utopia/Utopia) and Halie Lewis (Schulenburg/Schulenburg) posted ties for 26th and 28th. Cox fired an 84 in the second round, and Lewis closed with an 87. 

Kaley Martin (Cypress/Cypress Woods) and Kristen Laird (Seguin/Seguin) registered finishes of 36th and 47th.

George Fox won the tournament with a team total of 598 after team rounds of 295 and 303. Pomona-Pitzer came in second at 620.

Ottawa University (639), Occidental College (655), TLU (683), McMurry (694), and UC Santa Cruz (705) rounded out the team scores.
