Haley two shots from lead, TLU Men's Golf in fifth at McMurry Rockwind Links Intercollegiate

HOBBS, N.M. -- Texas Lutheran senior Nathan Haley opened the McMurry Rockwind Links Intercollegiate with a 1-under 71 on Sunday and stands in second place with a round to play.

Haley led the Bulldogs to first-round score of 307. The Bulldogs are fifth in the team standings. TLU trails tournament leader McMurry by 18 shots.

Haley is two shots from the lead, held by McMurry's Elliot Bourke, who posted a 3-under 69 on Sunday.

McMurry is followed in the team standings by Hardin-Simmons, Schreiner, University of Dallas, TLU, East Texas Baptist, University of the Southwest, and Howard Payne.

TLU's Matthew McArthur is tied for 10th after a 75, and Evan Skaar is tied for 25th following a 79.

TLU's Cameron Carter (82) and Chase Maus (82) are tied for 43rd.

The tournament concludes Monday with a final 18 holes at Rockwind Links.
