Texas Lutheran heads into conference tournament with home win over Colorado College

SEGUIN, Texas -- Defending conference champion Texas Lutheran knocked off Colorado College 79-69 Saturday in the Bulldogs' last regular-season game before the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament next weekend.
 
In TLU's Memorial Gymnasium, the Bulldogs erupted for 46 points in the second-half after trailing 36-33 at the half. TLU out-scored the Tigers 46-33 in the second half.
 
TLU improved to 14-11 overall and to 11-7 in the SCAC. CC dropped to 8-16 overall and to 6-12 in the SCAC. TLU won both meetings against the Tigers in the 2019-20 season.
 
Bulldog junior forward Caleb Lister led TLU with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Lister hit four of his nine three-point attempts. He also collected three steals.

All five TLU starters scored in double figures.
 
Jorden Kite, TLU's lone senior, scored 12 points and added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in his final appearance on Jim Shuler Court.
 
Sebastian Andrade, one day after going over 1,000 points for his career, scored 14 more points and dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds.
 
Jamir Mason and Trystin Silas each contributed 12 points. Six of Silas's points came on electrifying dunks.
 
The Bulldogs shot 53.3 percent in the second half and hit seven of their 16 three-point attempts.
 
Colorado College shot 37.9 percent from the field in the second half.
 
The Tigers were eliminated from the race for the conference tournament with a loss Friday night at Southwestern.
 
TLU had the No. 3 seed for the conference tournament already secured after Friday's home win over Johnson and Wales - Denver.
