TLU freshman designated hitter Tyler Post named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Tyler Post, a freshman designated hitter/first baseman from San Antonio, Texas, has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Post was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week as the team's designated hitter.

The complete D3baseball.com Team of the Week can be found here.

Post was previously named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15.

Post homered twice, reached base four times, and drove in three as the Bulldogs defeated DeSales (Pa.) 16-3 last Tuesday.

Post hit a solo home run in the middle of TLU's three consecutive home runs in the second inning and then belted a two-run homer in the sixth for a slugging percentage of 4.000 on the day. He also had a pair of walks and two runs scored.

With Tuesday's performance, Post raised his average to .385 and his RBI total to 13 in 12 games played.

Post joins Alex Cornman as Bulldogs named to the D3baseball Team of the Week in 2020.

TLU has had three of the six award winners for SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week in 2020. Cornman was the Week 2 winner, and Tyler Cauley was the Week 5 winner.

TLU Baseball's season has been suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 health threat. The NCAA and the SCAC have canceled spring championships for the 2020 season.

The NCAA announced last week that all student-athletes will receive an extra season of eligibility with the 2020 spring seasons being cut short.
