Texas Lutheran's Alex Cornman named to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran third baseman Alex Cornman, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week after his performance over the first two weeks of the 2020 baseball season.
 
Cornman hit .615 and slugged 1.308 for the Bulldogs as they got off to a 4-2 start this year.
 
Five of Cornman's eight hits went for extra bases. He drove in six and had two doubles, two triples, and a home run.
 
Cornman's home run, a solo shot in the ninth against Hardin-Simmons, proved to be the game-winning run in the three-game series finale in Abilene, Texas.
 
Cornman recorded a .700 batting average in the three games against Hardin-Simmons.
 
Cornman was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
 
The Bulldogs have a break in the schedule until Thursday, Feb. 27, when the team starts a four-game home series at Katt-Isbel Field with Pacific Lutheran (Wash.).
