Eight TLU student-athletes named to SCAC's 2020 Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Eight Texas Lutheran University student-athletes were named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's 12th Annual Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams.

 

The eight TLU honorees include: Zach Albers of Baseball, Alyssa Cantu of Softball, Nathan Haley of Men's Golf, Hannah Kipp of Women's Track & Field, Heath McDonough of Men's Track & Field, Madison Starr of Women's Tennis, Summer Swift of Women's Golf, and Alex Talley of Men's Tennis.

 

Albers is a senior from Giddings, Texas, and Cantu is a senior from Baytown, Texas. Haley is a senior from Richmond, Texas, and Kipp is a junior from Ledbetter, Texas.

 

McDonough is a junior from Canyon Lake, Texas, and Starr is a senior from Lake Jackson, Texas. Swift is a senior from Fentress, Texas, and Talley is a senior from Live Oak, Texas.

 

A total of 72 student-athletes were selected to the 2020 squad in the sports of baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.

The SCAC places a special emphasis on sportsmanship each year and asked all fans of the conference to exhibit good sportsmanship at all conference functions throughout the 2019-20 season.

Each head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the abbreviated 2020 season.
