Cross Country Competes in Dual Meet with Trinity

Results

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- After a week off, Texas Lutheran cross country returned to the course for a dual meet with fellow SCAC member Trinity early Friday morning at Olmos Basin Park in Olmos Park, Texas. Both men's and women's teams ran 5Ks.

MEN'S RECAP

Junior Carlos Cura (Rankin/Rankin) led the Bulldogs with a time of 16:34.8 for a fourth place finish. Lucas Falcon (Victoria/Victoria East) tallied an eighth place finish in a field of 27 runners with a time of 16:51.2.

Nathan Sandelovic (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) crossed with a time of 17:10.1 to finish 14th.

Wesley Holub (Wallis/Brazos) and Gabriel Ceballos (San Antonio/Smithson Valley) rounded out the top five for the Bulldogs. As a team, the Bulldogs averaged a time of 17:21.

WOMEN'S RECAP

In the women's 5K, Mackenzie Combs (New Braunfels/Canyon) led the way finishing fifth in a field of 14 runners with a time of 20:15.2. Gianna Kennedy (El Paso/El Paso) and Emma Etzler (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) finished seventh and eighth with Cristina Jaramillo (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) and Alexis Albert (Falls City/Falls City) rounding out the top five for the Bulldogs. As a team, the Bulldogs averaged a time of 22:22.

Texas Lutheran will compete in the Saints Collegiate Cross-Country Invite hosted by Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, Oct. 7 with men's slated to begin at 8 AM and women's slated to start at 8:30 AM.
