Combs Earns SCAC Runner of the Week Honors

SUWANEE, GA -- Freshman Mackenzie Combs (New Braunfels/Canyon) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Combs earns her first career weekly honor after just her second collegiate race.

Combs led the way for TLU and paced Division-III runners for her second consecutive race at the Rice/Nory Hersey Invitational, finishing 33rd in a field of 78 runners who finished the 4k race. Combs was tops among Division III runners participating in the meet with a time of 16:38.0.

Texas Lutheran will take this week off before competing against Trinity in a dual meet in Olmos Park on Friday, September 22, with the men's race starting at 7:20 AM and the women's meet starting at 7:40 AM.
