Volleyball Drops Match to No. 11 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- #RV Texas Lutheran volleyball was swept by No. 11 Trinity, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23, on Saturday at Calgaard Gymnasium on the campus of Trinity University in their final match of this weekend's SCAC Divisional.

Trinity hit .252 in the match while the Bulldogs hit .207.

Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy) led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, while Keriann Kallus (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Victoria Powell (Richmond/Fulshear) both finished with eight kills.

Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) dished out 22 assists and tallied 17 digs for a double-double, while Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) had a team-high 20 digs.

Trinity took the first game, 25-19, leading most of the way in a close set. The Tigers would win the second set by the same score - leading wire-to-wire.

The Bulldogs showed some fight in the third set and looked as if they would avoid the sweep before the Tigers rallied to tie the set 21-all before finishing off the sweep with a 25-23 win.

The Bulldogs continue SCAC play on October 18th as they begin the first half of a home and home series with Southwestern. The Bulldogs will travel to Georgetown for the 6 PM match on Wednesday. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
