Mitchan, Weisinger named to Texas Lutheran's Bulldog Challenge All-Tournament Team
SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Volleyball players Bryten Mitchan and Madison Weisinger have been named to the Bulldog Challenge All-Tournament Team.
Mitchan, a senior outside hitter, and Weisinger, a sophomore right-side hitter, led TLU to a 3-1 record at the Bulldog Challenge this past weekend in Seguin.
The Bulldogs defeated Howard Payne, Louisiana College and Sul Ross State before dropping a four-set match to McMurry.
McMurry's Jordan Burnell was name the Bulldog Challenge MVP. Burnell led McMurry to a 4-0 record in the tournament.
Mitchan (San Antonio/Highlands) hit .462 over four matches with 43 total kills. She hit .846 with 11 kills against Louisiana College, and she had a season-best 14 kills in the loss to McMurry.
Weisinger (Friendswood/Friendswood) hit .358 with 33 kills and 11 blocks. She had 12 kills and six blocks against McMurry, and she posted 10 kills, three aces, and two blocks in the win over Howard Payne.
TLU heads to California for this weekend's Cal Lu Fornia Volleyball Tournament, hosted by California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The Bulldogs will face Puget Sound (Wash.), Cal Lutheran, Chapman (Calif.), and Whittier (Calif.).
