Texas Lutheran posts 1-1 record on final day of SCAC Crossover in Kerrville

KERRVILLE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Volleyball went 1-1 Sunday at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover at Schreiner University to finish the four-game schedule with a 2-2 record.
 
On Sunday, TLU fell to ninth-ranked Colorado College in three sets: 25-20, 25-21, 25-12. The Bulldogs then defeated crossover tourney host Schreiner in three sets: 25-23, 26-24, 25-20.
 
On Saturday, the Bulldogs lost to Centenary (La.) in five sets and defeated University of Dallas in four sets.
 
The Bulldogs now have an overall record of 11-11 with a conference mark of 4-5.
 
The Bulldogs sit in sixth place in the SCAC standings midway through the league's season. The top six teams make the conference tournament, hosted by TLU Nov. 8-10 in Seguin.
 
In the win over Schreiner, Paige Day led TLU with nine kills and 17 digs. Day hit .241 for the match. Bryten Mitchan added eight kills, and Peyton Sulak registered seven kills.
 
Jaci Chambers and Adrienne Galaviz contributed 20 and 19 assists, respectively, and Kelsi Menn posted three blocks.
 
TLU continues SCAC play Thursday with a home match against Southwestern University. Match time is set for 6 p.m. in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium (Jim Shuler Court).
