Concordia Texas wins pair of tennis matches against Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs lost a pair of home matches Thursday to Concordia Texas. The TLU Women fell 8-1, and the TLU Men lost 9-0.

The Bulldog squads each dropped to 4-6 overall. The Concordia Men improved to 9-2, and the Concordia Women moved to 6-5.

TLU's lone victory of the day came from senior Madison Dyer (Marble Falls/Marble Falls). Dyer won a third-set, 10-point tiebreaker 11-9. Dyer won the first 7-5 and lost the second set 1-6 before capturing the tiebreaker.

The Bulldogs nearly had a second win in women's singles. First-year player Kaitlyn Enloe (Seguin/Seguin) played a third-set tiebreaker and lost it 10-6. Enloe won the first set 6-2 and lost the second 6-1.

The Bulldogs' No. 3 doubles team of Nick Roccaforte (Conroe/Conroe) and Eric Wendt (Round Rock/Round Rock) on the men side fell 8-7, losing 7-4 in a tiebreaker.

Concordia won all six men's singles in straight sets.

TLU gets right back to action Friday with a 1 p.m. dual match against Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
