GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's streak of four straight regular season wins against Southwestern came to an end after a 1-0 loss to the Pirates Tuesday night.
Southwestern (6-5, 4-1 SCAC) scored the game's only goal in the 1st minute. TLU (7-5-1, 3-2 SCAC) totaled 19 shots in the match, but Southwestern goalkeeper Erin York made six saves to keep the Bulldogs at bay.
Texas Lutheran had few opportunities in the first half before turning up the pressure in the second half that saw them outshoot the Pirates 12-3 but they were unable to find the back of the net. Callie Brame (San Antonio/Churchill) led the Bulldogs with six shots.
Southwestern managed only two shots on goal on Tuesday including the decisive goal in the first minute.
Texas Lutheran will look to rebound at home on Friday, Oct. 18, against St. Thomas at 7 PM. The match will be streamed on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
