BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer received an early goal from Mariela Candelario and a second-half score from Raquel Morris in Friday afternoon's 2-1 road win over Howard Payne.
TLU improved to 2-0 with the non-conference victory. Howard Payne dropped to 2-1.
Candelario scored with an assist from Madison Murphy at the 5:12 mark, and Morris netted a shot in the 54th minute with an assist from Candelario to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
HPU cut the margin to 2-1 with a goal in the 60th minute from Carrie Gerdes.
Bulldog freshman keeper Krystal Pulaski made nine saves for TLU and improved to 2-0.
The Bulldogs continue their non-conference road schedule on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match in Abilene, Texas against McMurry University.
