Frederick Leads Bulldogs in First Round of SCAC Championships

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team will look to make a big move in the standings going into the second day of the SCAC Women's Golf Championships at White Bluff Golf Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas. After the first round, Texas Lutheran is in sixth place at 106-over par with a 394 team score. TLU is 25 strokes behind fifth place Schreiner, while Trinity holds the lead after shooting a 27-over par 315.

Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) paces the Bulldogs after shooting 22-over (94) in the first round, tying for 20th place. Southwestern's Ryleigh Erickson leads the tournament at 2-over par through round one.

Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) is in 25th with a score of 24-over (96) while Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) is in 27th with a 28-over (100).

Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) is in 31st with a score of 32-over (104).

The Bulldogs will take on Monday's second round with Bustamante teeing off first at 8:45 AM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
