Texas Lutheran Opens at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's golf opened the 2023 Alamo City Classic at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio on Monday.

Senior Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon) paced the Bulldogs shooting 11-over (82), tying for 21st through the opening 18 holes. Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) trails Garza by a single stroke after her opening round, tying for 25th.

Freshman Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) is in a tie for 29th after an opening round score of 84. Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) sits in 33rd place while Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) is in 34th place.

As a team, Texas Lutheran is in seventh place through the opening 18 holes with a score of 55-over 339. Trinity, the hosts of the Alamo City Classic, lead through the first day with a score of 13-over 297.

The Bulldogs will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:30 AM at Quarry Golf Course. Live stats will be available on golfstat.com.
