TLU's Summer Swift named SCAC Golfer of the Week for second time this year

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior Summer Swift (Fentress/San Marcos) is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the second straight week after winning the McMurry Rockwind Links Intercollegiate Monday in Hobbs, N.M.
 
Swift claimed her second consecutive SCAC honor following her third career individual medalist honor last week.
 
Trailing by six strokes going into the final round, Swift fired a career-low, even-par 72 to win the event by five shots with a 36-hole total of 148 (76-72). Swift has opened the year with a pair of top two individual finishes and four competitive rounds in the 70s.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Madison Goldberg of Southwestern led the Pirates to their second-straight team title last week at the Rockwind Link Invitational, finishing second with a two-day total of 153 (79-74). Senior Reygan Rodriguez of Schreiner finished tied for 11th at the Rockwind Links Invite, firing rounds of 81 and 86 for a total of 167.
