Summer Swift a shot out of lead entering final round of Lady Bulldog Fall Classic

 
SEGUIN, Texas -- At Seguin's Max Starcke Park Municipal Golf Course, Texas Lutheran senior Summer Swift posted a first-round 74 on Monday and holds second place with 18 holes to play at the TLU Lady Bulldog Fall Classic.
 
Swift is a shot out of the tournament lead, held by Karen Alvarez of the University of Texas at Dallas. Alvarez carded a 73. Three golfers are in a tie for third after shooting 75s.
 
Swift and the Bulldogs opened the tournament with a team score of 359. The Bulldogs and eight other teams trail the Southwestern Pirates in the chase for the team titles. Southwestern fired a 306 on Monday and leads UT Dallas by nine shots.
 
Southwestern and UT Dallas are followed in the team standings by University of California at Santa Cruz, Trinity, McMurry, Mary Hardin-Baylor, TLU, LeTourneau, Southwestern "B", and the University of Dallas.

TLU's Kaley Martin came home with an 85 on Monday, and Bernadette Barringer and Samantha De La Rosa registered scores of 90 and 110, respectively.

The Lady Bulldog Fall Classic concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes at Starcke Park.
