Texas Lutheran's Summer Swift named to WGCA's All-West Region Team

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior Summer Swift (Fentress/San Marcos) has been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-West Region Team for 2019-20.

Twelve golfers from the West Region (Region 5) were named to the All-Region Team. Swift joined Madison Goldberg of Southwestern University as the only Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference golfers to earn the honor this year in women's golf.

Swift, a four-year letter-winner for TLU Women's Golf and the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Individual Champion, was named Monday as the TLU Female Sportsmanship Award Winner for 2019-20. She was a three-time All-SCAC honoree.

In her four-year career with TLU, Swift won three collegiate tournaments and tied for another (losing on a scorecard playoff). She was named an SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week on six different occasions.

Swift has been named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll three times.

Swift will graduate from TLU after this semester and will head to physical therapy school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She will be in a three-year program in pursuit of her doctorate in physical therapy.
