Bulldogs' Flores, Swift in top 10 at SCAC Conference Preview at Vaaler Creek
BLANCO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's golfers Wynter Flores and Summer Swift sit in third and ninth, respectively, after one round at the SCAC Conference Preview at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
The tournament, a two-round event hosted by TLU, concludes with a final 18 holes on Tuesday at Vaaler Creek.
Flores, a freshman from San Antonio, carded a 79 on the par-72, 5,855-yard layout. She is in a tie for third.
Flores sits a shot behind co-leaders Raquel Hill of Trinity and Madison Goldberg of Southwestern.
Swift posted an 83 and is in a tie for ninth. She is five shots behind the leaders.
TLU played with three players and does not figure in the team standings.
Trinity leads the tournament after a team score of 326. Southwestern is a stroke behind at 327.
The tournament also includes teams and individuals form St. Thomas (Texas), Schreiner, Johnson & Wales-Denver, University of Dallas, and McMurry.
