LONGVIEW, Texas -- Battling cold and windy weather on the course, Texas Lutheran's Summer Swift (Fentress/San Marcos) carded an 89 on Monday and sits in a tie for sixth at the Pinecrest Intercollegiate, hosted by LeTourneau University.

Swift and the Bulldogs are in fourth place in the six-team women's tournament with 18 holes to play at Pinecrest Country Club.

TLU played with only four players on Monday and needed to count all four. After Swift's 89, Kristen Cox (Utopia/Utopia) came in with a 92 and sits in 11th overall position.

Halie Lewis (Schulenburg/Schulenburg) and Kaley Martin (Cypress/Cypress Woods) posted rounds of 100 and 104, respectively.

Swift is nine shots behind Kathryne German of Tyler Junor College. German carded an 80, and teammate Avery Watkins recorded an 81.

Three players are tied for third, with 88s, and three players are tied for sixth, with 89s.

Tyler JC leads the team race by 19 shots over the University of Texas at Dallas. UTD is followed in the standings by East Texas Baptist, TLU, Friends (Kansas), and Jacksonville College (Texas).

The tournament concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes at Pinecrest Country Club.
