Bulldogs Hold Off Comeback to Top Schreiner 67-57

SEGUIN, Texas- Texas Lutheran stop a Schreiner comeback to win 67-57 in the team's fourth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game.

The Bulldogs record improves to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the SCAC.

Schreiner have now dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the SCAC.

Morgan Rodriguez scored a game-high 16 points while also stealing the ball twice.

Cami Davis was active behind the three-point line scoring 12 points with nine of them coming from deep.

Coming off the bench, Kasey Hairell scored 12 points of her own and had the game high in rebounds, bringing down 11 missed shots.

Tara Molina continues to create good looks for her teammates, dishing out seven assists, while also scoring three points and two steals.

Domonique Campos was the game's leader in steals robbing three possessions from the Mountaineers. Campos also had four assists and seven points to add to her performance.

Gabby Ivara stood out for the Mountaineers, scoring 14 points with seven assists and two steals.

The Bulldogs were dominant in the rebound department with 41 rebounds compared to Schreiner's 26. Texas Lutheran finished the night with 15 second chance points, 11 more than Schreiner.

Though the Mountaineers lost by ten, at one point they were down 22 points and made a late 12-point run to bring the game back to six points late in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs return home for the first game of the new decade Friday January 3rd, 2020 in Seguin, Texas at Memorial Gymnasium against Southwestern.
