Texas Lutheran uses strong second-half to drop Concordia Texas 66-57

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs broke into the win column with a 66-57 non-conference victory Tuesday night against Concordia University Texas.
 
In TLU's Memorial Gymnasium (Jim Shuler Court), the Bulldogs out-scored the Tornados 35-24 in the second half after trailing by two, 33-31, at the half.
 
TLU improved to 1-5 with the win. CTX fell to 2-5.
 
TLU junior post Abby Hroch led TLU with 18 points. Hroch (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) was a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor. She added six rebounds, a block, and a steal.
 
Redshirt junior point guard Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) scored 14 and added five steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
 
Sophomore forward Morgan Rodriguez (New Braunfels/Canyon) registered 12 points, 10 rebounds and an assist.
 
Kaycie Dunkerley led CTX with 17 points, four rebounds and three rebounds.
 
TLU shot 44.4 percent from the floor and 31.3 percent from the three-point line.
 
The Bulldogs overcame 26 turnovers by holding the Tornados to 30.5 percent shooting.
 
TLU out-scored CTX 34-16 in the paint.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Dec. 14 with a 7:30 p.m. home game against Sul Ross State.
