Texas Lutheran's Rebecca Snow named SCAC Softball Hitter of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior outfielder Rebecca Snow (Tomball/Klein Oak/Tyler JC) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week.

Snow drove in 12 runs in four games. TLU went 3-1 in those contests - a doubleheader sweep of No. 13 Mary Hardin-Baylor and a doubleheader split with NCAA Division II St. Edward's.

Snow belted grand slams in back-to-back games against St. Edward's on Feb. 26. The Bulldogs lost 10-9 in the first game against St. Edward's but defeated the Hilltoppers 11-3 in the second game in five innings.

Snow hit a grand slam in game one of that doubleheader that brought TLU within a run in the seventh. Her grand slam in the second game, coming in the third inning, pushed the TLU lead to 10-3.

Snow hit .600 for the week and slugged 1.300. Her on-base percentage was .667, and she scored four runs and walked three times.

For the season, Snow is hitting .563 with 14 RBI and six runs scored.

The Bulldogs return to action this Friday and Saturday with a four-game series at Trinity University. The first three games of the series will count as SCAC contests. The final game of the series will be a non-conference contest.

The doubleheader Friday at Trinity begins at 5 p.m. The doubleheader Saturday starts at noon. At this time, no spectators are allowed at SCAC athletics events.

TLU is 4-2 overall and 0-0 in the SCAC. Trinity is 4-2 overall and 0-0 in the SCAC.

TLU, the 2019 NCAA Division III National Champion, has won six consecutive SCAC Championships.
