TLU Cross Country teams race in Concordia Invitational

AUSTIN -- Texas Lutheran Women's and Men's Cross Country teams raced Saturday at the Concordia Invitational, held at the Walter E. Long Park in Austin.

The TLU Men produced a fifth-place team finish. The TLU Women did not race its full compliment of runners and did not register a team score.

Cassius Serff-Roberts led the Bulldogs with an individual finish of 15th. Serff-Roberts completed the 8K course in 30 minutes, 14.83 seconds.

Corey Rudacille registered a time of 31:56.72 and finished 27th, and Hector Hornedo crossed the line in 32:18.41 and finished 30th. 

Mark Mainez and Christopher Torres collected placements of 45th and 46th, respectively, with times of 37:37.50 and 38:16.16.

TLU did not compete with its top runner, Caleb Calderon.

The TLU Men placed behind Texas A&M-International (19 points), Texas A&M-Kingsville (50), St. Edward's (101), and Concordia Texas (104). The Bulldogs placed ahead of Mary Hardin-Baylor (138) and Sul Ross State (175).

In the women's race, TLU individual Hannah Martinez came home in 22nd with a time of 25:58.76 over the 6K course. Ciara Rodriguez was 24th in 26:13.57.

Emma Morgan and Brooke Kloesel captured finishes of 31st and 36th, respectively, with times of 28:27.39 and 28:52.71.

TLU did not compete with its top runner, Ashley Rynard.

Both Bulldog squads race next Saturday at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational, to be held at Live Oak Park in Live Oak, Texas.
