Bio

Ray Medrano enters his first season as an assistant with Texas Lutheran Track and Field.

Upon high school graduation, Medrano joined the United States Air Force where he served for 11 years and completed tours for Operation Enduring Freedom (x2) and Operation Inherit Resolve directing over 100 airmen. During his time in the USAF, he became certified as the Lead Military Personal Training Leader and TRX Certified Trainer training over 3,000 military members, earning the Top Fit Squadron for 2010 and 2011.

Throughout his enlistment he coached three championship football teams, two runner-up football teams, two runner-up volleyball teams and personally trained hundreds of Active Military Members. While he was in the military, he earned top Warhawk Honors for fitness with a physical fitness score of 100 percent four times. 

Post military, in four years as a Track and Field Coach/Cross Country Coach in AAU and USATF I have achieved the following:

· 3 USATF XC All-Americans 

· 11th nationally ranked runner in XC in 5k

· 2 1500-meter All-Americans 

· 2 Long Jump All-Americans 

· 3 Top 15 nationally ranked long jumpers 

· 8 top 30 nationally ranked 100- and 200-meter runners 

· 17 top 20 nationally ranked 1500- and 3000-meter runners 

· 3 top ten 800-meter runners 

· 7 top ten nationally ranked 4x800-meter relay teams 

· 12th ranked 4x400 meter relay team
