Men's Track & Field Sweeps SCAC Weekly Awards
SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field program swept Tuesday evening's conference honors, the conference announced - sweeping the second week of the weekly awards for the 2024 season.
Junior Wyatt Wilson (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) was named SCAC Track Athlete of the Week after an explosive showing at the 2024 UTA Invitational. Wilson finished 11th out of a 45-man field in the 100m dash with a time of 10.69 seconds. The 10.69 second time moved Wilson to third in all of NCAA Division-III in the event. Wilson also finished seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 21.55 seconds - also ranking second nationally in NCAA Division-III.
Dalon Harris (Garland/Lakeview Centennial) would be named SCAC Field Athlete of the Week after a strong performance at the UTA Invitational as he set a new national mark for NCAA Division-III in the shot put with a mark of 16.00m (52' 6"), finishing second only to a UT-Arlington thrower on Friday.
The weekly honors are the second in both Harris and Wilson's careers.
