No. 24 Men's Track and Field Ready for the Big Stage at the NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, NY -- The biggest stage is set for the No. 24 Texas Lutheran men's track and field team.

With the most entries of any university in the the state of Texas, Texas Lutheran is ready for the national stage at Polisseni Track & Field Complex in Rochester, New York.

The Bulldogs begin the competition on Thursday in the 4x100m relay.

The team of Weston Guzman (McAllen/McAllen), Wyatt Wilson (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), Bryce Powell-Chimene (Dayton/Dayton) and Elijah Jefferson (San Antonio/Construction Careers Academy) enter the event tied for 17th in all of Division-III. The team enters the event thanks to the 2023 SCAC Championship winning and record-breaking time of 40.91 seconds.

Jefferson will also run the 200m dash on Thursday, entering the event with the number eight time (21.05 seconds) in NCAA Division-III.

A historic season for the Bulldogs will continue as the Bulldogs get to work early Friday morning with sophomore Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan) competing in the pole vault. Jefferson will compete in the 100m prelims later Friday night.

Texas Lutheran has led the country in the high jump since the Tom Tellez Invitational earlier this month as Gerrit Twitero (McQueeney/Seguin) has taken the high jump event by storm with the Division-III leading mark of 2.10m. Twitero will jump in the event final Saturday morning. If the Bulldogs make it to the event finals, the 4x100m relay team, as well as Jefferson in both sprints events will all compete again on Saturday.

All three days of the event will be broadcast on ncaa.com. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
