Men's Tennis Earns 6-3 Win Over Schreiner on Senior Day

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis defeated Schreiner, 6-3, on Senior Day at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. The win marks their seventh win in their last eight matches.

 Prior to the match, Texas Lutheran recognized senior Tyler Sargent (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) in pre-match Senior Day festivities - recognizing his accomplishments and thanking him for his contributions to the program. Thank you Tyler for everything over the course of the last five years.

Texas Lutheran led 2-1 following doubles competition with the team of Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) picked up their seventh win of the season with a narrow 8-7 win while the team of Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) and Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) earned their sixth win together, 8-3.

Texas Lutheran won four out of six singles matches to seal their eighth win of the season and fourth SCAC win.

Cristan and Herrera would win their singles matches in straight sets while Logan Randall would need a decisive third set to pull out the singles victory. The win marked the team-leading tenth singles win of the season for Herrera.

Up next, Texas Lutheran wraps the regular season as they travel to Marshall, Texas, to face the East Texas Baptist Tigers on Saturday, April 20. First serve is set for 9 AM.
