Men's Tennis Defeats Dallas, 7-2; Match Longest Streak Since Joining SCAC

IRVING, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis defeated Dallas, 7-2, in Irving Saturday afternoon for their sixth straight win, matching their longest win streak since joining the SCAC which took place in the Bulldogs inaugural season in the conference in 2014. With the win, TLU improves to 3-0 in SCAC play. Texas Lutheran currently sits in a tie for first place in the SCAC with a 7-6 record and 3-0 record in the SCAC, the seven wins mark the most in a single season since 2018's 9-11 season.

Texas Lutheran led 2-1 following doubles competition with the team of Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) picking up their sixth win of the season with a dominant 8-3 win while the team of Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) and Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) earned their fourth win together, 8-1.

Texas Lutheran won five out of six singles matches to seal their sixth straight win.

Herrera, Cristan, Leslie, and Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) would all win their singles matches in straight sets while Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) would need a decisive third set to win 3-6, 7-6, 6-3. The win marked the team-leading ninth singles win of the season for Herrera and the sixth straight singles win for Herrera and Leslie.

Texas Lutheran will return to Seguin on April 12 for their first home match in just over a month as they welcome Southwestern to the Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center. First serve is set for 10:30 AM.
