Texas Lutheran Rallies to Defeat St. Thomas to Extend Winning Streak to Five

HOUSTON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis rallied to defeat St. Thomas, 6-3, Saturday afternoon to extend their win streak to five matches. With the win, TLU improves to 2-0 in SCAC play as they continue their longest win streak since the 2018 season. Texas Lutheran currently sits in a tie for first place in the SCAC with a 6-6 record and 2-0 record in the SCAC, the six wins mark the most in a single season since 2018's 9-11 season.

Texas Lutheran trailed 2-1 after doubles competition with the team of Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) winning 8-1 to help the Bulldogs avoid being swept in doubles competition. The win is their fourth win of the season together.

Trailing 2-1 entering singles competition, the Bulldogs would rally to win five out of six singles matches to steal the road conference match.

Leslie, Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou), Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), and Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) would all win their singles matches. Moninger and Herrera would require decisive third sets. The win marked the team-leading eighth singles win of the season for Herrera and the fifth straight singles win for Herrera and Leslie.
