Men's Tennis Defeats Sul Ross, 7-2; Reach Highest Win Total Since 2019

ALPINE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis defeated Sul Ross State, 7-2, in Alpine Saturday morning for their fourth straight win. The win marks the 13th straight victory over the Lobos dating back to 2012 as the Bulldogs continue longest win streak since the 2018 season. With the win, Texas Lutheran improves to 5-6 on the season, the most wins in a season since 2019's 5-12 season and surpassing the win total from last season under second-year head coach David Mueller.

Texas Lutheran led 2-1 following doubles competition with the team of Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) picking up their fifth win of the season with a dominant 8-2 win while the team of Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) earned their sixth win together, 8-0.

Texas Lutheran won five out of six singles matches to seal their third straight win.

Herrera, Randall, Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), JT Figueroa, and Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) would all win their singles matches in straight sets. The win marked the team-leading seventh singles win of the season for Herrera and the fourth straight singles win for Herrera, Leslie, and Figueroa. The win also marked the first official collegiate win for freshman Kadon Sullins.

Up next, Texas Lutheran will enjoy their Spring Break before returning to SCAC play as they travel to Houston to face the University of St. Thomas Celts on Saturday, March 23. First serve is set for 1 PM.
