Men's Tennis Defeats Sul Ross, 7-2; On Longest Win Streak Since 2018

ALPINE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis defeated Sul Ross State, 7-2, in Alpine Friday night for their third straight win. The win marks the 12th straight victory over the Lobos dating back to 2012 and with a three-match win streak the Bulldogs have their longest win streak since the 2018 season.

Texas Lutheran led 2-1 following doubles competition with the team of Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) picked up their fourth win of the season with a dominant 8-2 win while the team of Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) earned their fifth win together, 8-0.

Texas Lutheran won five out of six singles matches to seal their third straight win.

Herrera, Moninger, Randall, Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), and JT Figueroa would all win their singles matches in straight sets. The win marked the team-leading sixth singles win of the season for Herrera and the third straight singles win for Herrera, Moninger, Leslie, and Figueroa.

Texas Lutheran will face Sul Ross State in a rematch on Saturday, March 9, at 10 AM in Alpine.
