Men's Tennis Sweeps Austin College

SEGUIN, Texas -- After a three-match losing streak, Texas Lutheran men's tennis got on the right track with a 9-0 sweep of Austin College Saturday morning at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center.

Texas Lutheran swept in both doubles and singles competition.

The team of Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) picked up their second win of the season with a dominant 8-2 win while the team of Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) earned their third win together, 8-4.

Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff), Herrera, Moninger, and Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) would all win their matches in straight sets while Logan Randall would need a decisive third set to bring home a 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 victory from the number one spot.

Texas Lutheran will welcome St. Mary University (KS) to Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center on Monday, March 4, at 3 PM for non-conference action to wrap an eight match home stand.
