Cashton Herrera Claims SCAC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) went a combined 2-2 over the weekend, including 2-0 in singles competition. For his efforts, he was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week.

Against McMurry on Friday afternoon, Herrera won his singles match at the No. 3 spot 6-1, 6-4. On Saturday vs. LeTourneau, he claimed his second straight singles win with a 6-1, 6-2.

This is Herrera's first SCAC Player of the Week honor in his career and the first Bulldog to win the honor this season.

On the season, Herrera is 2-1 in singles competition.

Up next, Texas Lutheran continues non-conference action play as they welcome the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets to Seguin on Friday, Feb. 16. First serve is set for 2 PM.
