Bulldogs Fall to McMurry in Home Opener, 7-2

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis dropped their home opener to McMurry Friday evening, 7-2.

The Bulldogs squad were swept in doubles competition with all three matchups ending in close 7-6 finishes.

Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) would pick up their first wins of the season and Figueroa earning the first of his collegiate career. Both Bulldogs would win their matches by a score of 6-1, 6-4.

Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) forced a decisive third set but would fall, 3-6, 7-6, 6-10.

Weather permitting, Texas Lutheran is back in action at Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 10, against LeTourneau in non-conference action. First serve is set for 10 AM.
