Texas Lutheran Swept 9-0 in Season Opener

BELTON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis was swept by Mary Hardin-Baylor, 9-0, Saturday afternoon at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center in the 2024 season opener.

The Bulldogs were swept in doubles competition. The team of JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) and Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) fought to an 8-5 finish.

Men's tennis would drop all six singles matches. Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) would force a decisive third set before falling 6-4, 4-6, 8-10. Figueroa would have a competitive match before falling in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Up next, Texas Lutheran will continue non-conference play as they travel to Austin to face the Concordia Tornados on Friday, Feb. 2nd. First serve is set for 4 PM.
