Texas Lutheran edged in conference match at Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer gave up a first-half goal to Southwestern and could not find the back of the net against the Pirates in a 1-0 conference loss Sunday in Georgetown, Texas.
 
The Pirates made Nathaniel Blake's goal in the 28th minute stand up against the Bulldogs.
 
Southwestern improved to 1-0 overall and to 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
TLU fell to 1-1 overall and to 1-1 in the SCAC.
 
Southwestern out-shot TLU 12-7 and had an 8-2 edge in shots on goal.
 
TLU All-American Luis Green had three of TLU's seven shots. Green had one of TLU's two shots on goal.
 
The Bulldogs' next match is the home-opener against St. Thomas (Texas) on Saturday, March 6. The match is set for a 2:30 p.m. start at Gustafson Field.
 
No spectators are allowed at the match, but TLU will provide a free video webcast and live stats on tlubulldogs.com.
