SEGUIN, Texas -- Luis Green scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season to send Texas Lutheran to a 3-0 win Friday night over Southwestern University.
Green, a sophomore forward, gave TLU a 2-0 lead in the 46th minute when he converted a penalty kick.
Green put the Bulldogs in front 3-0 with an unassisted goal in the 70th minute.
TLU improved to 11-5 overall and to 5-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Southwestern dropped to 9-5-2 and to 3-3-1 in the SCAC.
Cameron Townes notched the game-winner in the 37th minute off an assist from Marco Roman.
For Townes, the senior midfielder/defender, the goal was his ninth of the season. For Roman, the freshman forward/midfielder, the assist was his team-leading eighth.
Caleb Weed made five saves in the goal for the Bulldogs.
TLU out-shot Southwestern 14-11. Each team had five shots on goal.
The Bulldogs continue SCAC play next weekend with road matches at Centenary College (La.) and St. Thomas (Texas).
