Texas Lutheran suffers 2-1 overtime loss on road at Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer dropped a 2-1 non-conference match Friday in overtime against the Southwestern Pirates.
 
TLU fell to 3-2 with its second overtime loss of the young season. Southwestern improved to 3-1-1.
 
Seth Holzmann scored the "golden goal" for Southwestern in the 94th overall minute, the fourth minute of the first overtime. The goal was unassisted.
 
TLU's Abram Mendez tied the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 68th minute off an assist from Mitchell Long.
 
Jack Adams put Southwestern in front in the 32nd minute.
 
Southwestern finished with a 16-13 edge in total shots and a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal.
 
TLU's next match is next Friday in a home contest against Colorado College - another non-conference match against a fellow member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
Friday's contest with Colorado College is scheduled for 7 p.m. at TLU's Gustafson Field.
