TLU's Lopez-Rivera named All-Region Scholar


SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran junior defender Eduardo Lopez-Rivera (Round Rock/Stony Point) has been named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-West Region Team.

Lopez-Rivera is a business major, and he holds a grade point average of 3.39.

Lopez-Rivera is a three-year starter for the Bulldogs, and he led TLU to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal.

The Bulldogs produced an overall record of 11-8 and a conference mark of 9-6.

An All-SCAC Second Team selection in 2018, Lopez-Rivera played in all 19 games and led a TLU defense that allowed 12.8 shots per contest and 1.53 goals per match.

Lopez-Rivera was the 2016 SCAC Co-Newcomer of the Year, a 2016 All-SCAC Second Team selection, and a 2017 All-SCAC Honorable Mention selection.
